Mo - Meditation classes in English
Mondays, 7.30 - 8.45 pm
Please note that there will be a 2 weeks term break in March. Classes resume on 19. March.
The classes will allow you to unwind your mind and return home relaxed and refreshed. Short talks will provide you with the tools to overcome negative states of mind such as anger and jealousy and to cultivate positiv minds such as patience and love. Guided meditations will provide you with the foundation for developing a powerful meditation practice.
We will explore different Buddhist meditation topics such as mindfulness, loving kindness, compassion, patience, wisdom, and how we can practically apply them in daily life to solve our problems.
Each class includes two meditations and a short talk. Our classes can be attended on a drop-in basis and you are welcome to drop in at any time for an individual class. The course dates are below.
20. and 27. February
Sow some wisdom seeds - meditate on emptiness
The classes will start with a breathing meditation to relax the mind and are followed by a short talk on emptiness or ultimate truth. Emptiness is a profound subject and we will look at analogies to illustrate it.
Buddha said that all phenomena are like illusions. Buddha likened all phenomena to illusions because, through the force of the imprints of self-grasping ignorance accumulated since beginningless time, whatever appears to our mind naturally appears to be truly existent and we instictively assent to this appearance, but in reality everything is totally empty of true existence.
