The Kadampa Meditation Centre Austria

A Centre for Modern Buddhism in the heart of Vienna

Kadampa Meditation Centre Austria offers a wide range of meditations, workshops, teachings and study programmes.

It is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union and was founded in 2001 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

If you want to learn meditation in a beautiful atmosphere, there are opportunities to do so on various days every week, on Wednesdays we have our English drop classes.

On weekends we offer workshops to learn how to meditate or to receive advice from Buddhist wisdom on topics relevant to everyday life. Furthermore, you can deepen your meditation experience in guided meditation retreats.

We also offer retreats with longer periods of silence and in rural settings, either in Austria or at international retreat centres of our tradition. Our Foundation Program on Friday is open to all who are interested. If you would like to gain a clear and complete understanding of Buddhist teachings, please feel free to drop in for a taster.

All events are open to the public.

Everybody welcome!

„The people of this world need Dharma. They need good material conditions because they are humans. And they need Dharma to solve their human problems, problems of anger, attachment and ignorance, selfa-cherishing nd so on. They need Dharma to make their human life meaningful, they need Dharma to have good relationships with others.“ (Video)
